Education & practice

Way before now, Morth could be found designing bits of production line at Austin Rover, Longbridge.  From engineering, Morth transitioned to Saatchi & Saatchi and CDP, where he practised distilling complex narratives into simple, snappy stories.

This led to studying sculpture from life at Harrow College and then expanding creative exploration on the Foundation Diploma in Art and Design at West Dean College.  He has worked regularly from Nina Cairns' Mapstone Studio in Devon and has practiced under guidance from Luke Shepherd, Lucianne Lassalle, Lynn Brankojevicz and Eudald de Juana Gorriz from the Florence Academy of Art.

He has developed printmaking techniques at Double Elephant in Exeter, and prefers screenprinting to convey a social narrative.

Morth has run creative workshops for many groups including Southbank's Being A Man Festival, in schools in the USA and Spain for Apps For Good, with the global team of the Dove Self-Esteem Project and with clients of charities SAFE (against domestic violence), Headway Devon (brain injury) and Hikmat (refugees).

In 2017 Morth gained funding support from the Devon Community Foundation for an integrated sculpture project including community workshops and a national photographic competition.  The 4 metre high sculpture was awarded the top prize at the TRAIL outdoor exhibition.

Morth was elected chair of the South West Sculptors Association in Mar 2019.
